Among the top goals in ASD's Strategic Plan is to be "Stewards of Resources."

ASD's recycling initiative is to increase its diversion rate to 25% annually. This can be accomplished with each campus user utilizing the single-stream recycling containers throughout the campus. Single-stream allows recyclable items to be commingled vs. separated for collection, which is a time saver.
Efforts by the facilities department to help with the recycling diversion include additional deployment of recycle containers throughout building classrooms, offices and commons spaces districtwide. In conjunction with right sizing waste and recycling containers throughout the campus, ASD continues to compost 100% of any food scraps.
