Joe is responsible for the maintenance of all of Aspen School District’s Operations and the development, implementation, and finalization of all facility projects, including land acquisitions. He leads a facilities team of 25 employees.

"Operations and maintenance is charged with providing an effective, efficient, and supportive 21st-century learning environment for all students and staff,” Waneka said. “With a conducive learning environment and well-maintained facilities, the level of engagement and accomplishment is substantially increased.”

Tonya provides direct administrative and operational support to the Director of Operations.

She assist with front line technicians, facilitates cross departmental communication, and supports the implementation of operations initiatives- helping to ensure smooth work flows and successful outcomes across all area's of responsibility.

She plays an essential role in event planning and execution, including booking, vendor coordination, contract management, housing administration, to ensure timely and effective service delivery.
