At every educational level, we strive to empower each student to achieve their full potential within a diverse, inclusive, and equitable environment that nurtures both their academic and social-emotional growth.  

Mission: Our service model is built to nurture the unique abilities of gifted and talented students by ensuring a challenging, inclusive, and supportive environment. We strive to:

WHAT IS GIFTED AND TALENTED?

The Colorado Department of Education defines gifted and talented children as "those whose abilities, talents, and potential for accomplishment are so exceptional or developmentally advanced that they require special provisions to meet their needs," The Aspen School District is committed to providing a high-quality education for students of all ability levels, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, or socioeconomic status. The Ascent Program at Aspen Elementary School is focused on ensuring gifted and talented students are provided with learning opportunities that support their needs and extend their thinking within the school environment.
