TAKE A PEEK INSIDE ASPEN SCHOOL DISTRICT

The Campus

Our schools (elementary, middle, and high) are located on one campus in the beautiful Maroon Creek Valley, serving approximately 1,500 students from preschool to grade 12. City of Aspen parks surround the schools and are used in the summer for community events and during the school year for games and practices. The nearby Aspen Ski Club has a ski lift for after-school practices and there are Nordic tracks on the surrounding fields for competitive events and recreational skiing. A footbridge connects the campus to a recreational center with a climbing tower, swimming pool, and ice arena. The center also offers fitness and wellness classes.

The Curriculum

The Aspen School District has a robust academic curriculum, striving to provide students with critical thinking skills and a global perspective for informed, responsible citizenship. In addition, a district-wide outdoor/experiential education curriculum recognizes and encourages the development of mind, body, and spirit. With goals of promoting respect for the environment and developing individual self-confidence to “go the extra mile,” this unique program offers students a choice of service-oriented activities to rugged outdoor adventures. Aspen School District seeks staff members who enjoy challenges, possess a love of lifelong learning, and set high expectations of achievement for themselves and their students.
